We are committed to protecting the personal data of our supporters.  Please read this policy carefully to understand how we collect, manage, use and store your personal data.

What information do we collect about you?

We collect information that you provide, such as your name and email address, when you sign up to receive newsletters, updates and information on fundraising events from us.

Personal information, such as your name, address and email, may also be collected directly from you when you interact with Papua Partners, for example making a donation, sending or receiving an email, making an enquiry or participating in an event.

Certain third-party organisations – such as Just Giving and Charities Aid Foundation – collect information on our behalf and may share your personal details with us, where you have consented for them to do so.  These organisations have their own data protection and privacy policies which we would ask you to read.

We have access to information about how you use our emails (sent out via MailChimp) – for example, whether you open them, which links you click on and your IP address.  This allows us to measure the level of interest in our communications.

Who we share your data with?

We never share or sell your personal details to any third party for marketing purposes.  We only share your details with other organisations for their own use where we are required to do so by law, for example your name and address when you choose to include Gift Aid with your donation to us.

We use MailChimp to send out emails and to store our subscribers list.  MailChimp stores and processes your data in the US and is certified under the EU-US Privacy Shield, to ensure that any information you provide is secure.   You can view their privacy policy here.

How will we use the information about you?

We use your banking details and contact information to process any donations you have made and to send you a receipt.  If applicable, we also use your personal data to claim Gift Aid.

We use your contact information to send you newsletters and details of fundraising events, only if you have opted in to receive such mailings from us, for example by subscribing to our mailing list or consenting to receive more information via a third-party donation platform.

You can unsubscribe from these at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of our emails or by contacting us to let us know of your preferences.

How do we protect your information?
