Providing men and women with skills and opportunities to change their future
Papuan communities have many resources, but often not the skills to use them to create opportunities for income. The education system is weak and many village schools are barely functioning, leaving many young people and adults without the relevant skills to get jobs or to add value to their basic agricultural produce to improve their standard of living. The government provides funds to villages for community development, education and health activities, but this money often disappears before it reaches the people, or it is just divided out and not used for any particular purpose
